Royal Generation-X Coffee Machine

The Royal Generation-X is a 2 or 3 group café machine that adds independent temperature control (TCI) to each group on top of a large copper steam boiler.

The Royal Generation-X is built around a copper boiler of 11 litres (2 group) or 14 litres (3 group) with thermosiphon circulation, plus a 0.8 litre TCI boiler for each group. TCI, Royal's independent temperature control, lets you set each group's delivery temperature separately.

The heavy thermocompensated groups weigh about 4.4 kg each, which helps them hold temperature through a rush. An optional PPI (independent pressure profile) system adds five programmable pressure profiles per group, set from a colour touch-screen, and electronic keypad models are available. This is a full-power café machine: at 7.3 to 10.2 kW it needs a proper commercial electrical supply.

What TCI Adds to a Heat-Exchanger Machine

On a conventional heat-exchanger café machine, every group's brew water is heated by the same steam boiler, so all groups share roughly the same temperature.

  • The Generation-X adds a separate 0.8 L TCI boiler for each group.
  • Each TCI boiler has its own temperature setting, controlled electronically.
  • The main copper boiler is left to do what it's best at: steam and hot water.

You get the steam power of a big heat-exchanger machine with the brew-temperature control normally found on multi-boiler machines, which matters if you serve more than one coffee.
