Rocket Giotto Type R Cronometro Coffee Machine

Handmade in Milan, the Giotto Cronometro brings commercial-grade E61 engineering into a home-sized footprint — and the Type R adds a quiet rotary pump you can plumb straight into your water supply.

At the core of the Giotto is a 1.8-litre copper boiler with brass, lead-free end plates, running as a heat exchanger so you can steam milk and pull a shot at essentially the same time. The Cronometro version adds a PID display for tighter temperature control and a built-in shot timer, so you can track and repeat your extraction times rather than guessing by eye. The E61 group head runs on a thermosyphon system for consistent thermal stability shot after shot.

The Type R specifically swaps in a commercial-grade rotary pump in place of the standard vibratory pump — quieter in daily use, and able to draw from either the internal 2.5-litre tank or a direct plumbed connection, which matters if you're running it hard or don't want to keep topping up a tank.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Type R and Type V?

The Type V uses a vibratory pump and an internal water tank only. The Type R uses a commercial-grade rotary pump, which runs slightly quieter and can either draw from the internal tank or be plumbed directly to your water supply.

Does it need to be plumbed in?

No — the Type R can run from its internal 2.5L tank, but it also supports a direct plumbed connection if you'd prefer not to refill it manually.

What does "heat exchanger" mean for daily use?

It means the machine uses one boiler to handle both brewing and steaming, so you can pull a shot and steam milk close to simultaneously rather than waiting for separate boilers to reach temperature.

What does the shot timer do?

It displays your extraction time as the shot pulls, so you can track and repeat consistent timing rather than estimating by eye.

Is installation included?

Free commercial machine installation is available for Sydney metro areas. For outside Sydney metro or interstate, installation can be booked by calling (02) 9758 0760 and charges will apply.

Is finance available?

Yes — see our Finance Options page, or contact us to discuss what's available.

What is the shipping policy?

We ship US-wide via air freight, with a tracking number provided on every order. Shipping is calculated at checkout. If you'd like a delivery estimate before you buy, contact our team on +1 (646) 774-0590 or see our shipping policy.

Do I have to pay tariffs or customs duties?

No. All tariffs and customs duties are included in the price and covered by Di Pacci Coffee Company. There are no extra steps for you and no surprise fees on delivery — the price you see is the price you pay.

Are used machines tested before sale?

Yes. Every pre-owned, ex-demo, and ex-training-room machine is inspected and fully serviced by our qualified technicians before it ships — many go through a detailed multi-point safety check. They're cleaned, tested, and ready to work on arrival, so you get proven performance at a fraction of new-machine cost.
