ECM Synchronika II — Dual Boiler, 6.5-Minute Heat-Up

The ECM Synchronika II is a flagship dual-boiler espresso machine, hand-built in Heidelberg, Germany — the refined successor to ECM's legendary Synchronika and one of the most complete E61 prosumer machines available.

New for the Synchronika II: additional heating cartridges in the E61 brew group (3C Temp technology) deliver a 6.5-minute heat-up time, first in class among E61 espresso machines. Two independent stainless steel boilers with PID control, an OLED display with a tactile rotary knob, active and passive pre-infusion, and a quiet rotary pump round out the platform, with switchable tank-or-plumb operation.

About This Machine

What's new in the Synchronika II vs the original Synchronika?
Three major upgrades: additional E61 cartridge heaters (3C Temp) cut heat-up time to 6.5 minutes; a new OLED PID display with a rotary knob centralizes all settings; and active/passive programmable pre-infusion, a shot counter, scheduling, and ECO mode add modern control. The core platform — dual stainless boilers, rotary pump, E61 group, hand-built in Heidelberg — stays the same.
What's the difference between Standard and Flow Control versions?
The Standard version uses the E61 group with active and passive pre-infusion for classic extraction. The Flow Control version adds a factory-fitted, manually adjustable valve on the E61 group so you can control flow and pressure during extraction — ideal for pressure profiling and tailoring shots to specific flavor goals.
Can the Synchronika II be plumbed into a water line?
Yes. It's plumb-ready for unlimited operation, or you can use the removable water tank for portability. Plumb-in mode is enabled through the OLED menu.
Is the Synchronika II suitable for a small café?
Within limits, yes — the commercial-grade rotary pump and dual boilers with 2-bar steam pressure suit small cafés serving up to around 50 cups a day. For higher volume or sustained back-to-back service, a commercial-grade machine built for café duty cycles is the better fit.
