Slayer Espresso Machines

Slayer is the Seattle-made commercial espresso machine that changed the way the specialty coffee world thinks about extraction. Since 2011, Slayer espresso machines have been built around a single radical idea: give the barista direct, real-time control over the flow rate of water through the coffee — not just pressure, not just temperature, but the actual volume of water moving through the puck at every moment of the shot.

The result is an espresso machine that produces flavour profiles no other commercial espresso machine can replicate. At Dipacci USA we are authorised Slayer dealers — contact our team to discuss lead times, configuration options, and installation.

The Slayer range

  • Slayer Espresso V3 — The flagship Slayer commercial espresso machine and the model that defined the brand. Available in 1, 2, and 3 group configurations, the Espresso V3 uses patented needle valve technology to give baristas continuous, manual control over flow rate during extraction. Three-position brew group actuators let you switch between pre-brew, restricted flow, and full flow within a single shot. Independent brew boilers per group deliver impeccable brewing temperature and temperature stability from the first shot to the last, while a 3.3L pre heat tank supplies a near-infinite reservoir of temperature-stable water on demand. Group heads are rated to 1 million cycles. Handcrafted and customisable — finishes, wood type, panel colour, and metal details are all configurable to your space.
  • Slayer Steam LP — The Steam LP bridges manual artistry and volumetric production speed. A patented needle valve controls flow rate through the brew paddle, just as on the Espresso V3 — but the Steam LP's defining feature is its Record and Playback system. A barista dials in the perfect shot manually, the machine records every parameter of that extraction, and plays it back volumetrically for every subsequent shot throughout a busy service. Ideal for high-volume cafés that want Slayer's signature flavour profiling with the speed and consistency of programmed dosing.
  • Slayer Single Group — A single group commercial espresso machine available in both 110V and 220V configurations. Brings the full Slayer Espresso V3 experience — patented needle valve, independent brew boiler, pre heat tank, and 3-position actuator — to lower-volume bars, home installations, and café startups where a multi-group machine is not yet needed.

The needle valve — what it actually does

Every Slayer espresso machine is built around a patented needle valve integrated into each group head. The valve directly controls the flow rate of water passing through the coffee grounds — not just the pressure at the pump, but the actual volume of water moving through the puck at any given moment during extraction.

The three-position brew group actuator on the Espresso V3 maps to three distinct states of the needle valve:

  • Pre-brew (restricted flow) — The needle valve is nearly closed. Water enters the puck at extremely low flow rate — enough to saturate the grounds gently without building extraction pressure. This is the pre heat stage where the puck wets and swells evenly, channelling is prevented, and the coffee bed prepares for full extraction. Duration is either manually held or set via the programmable pre-brew timer.
  • Restricted flow (middle position) — The needle valve opens partially. Flow rate increases but remains below full extraction pressure. This produces the distinctive Slayer shot profile — a slow, drawn-out extraction that allows finer grinding than any standard commercial espresso machine would permit without bitterness. The extended contact time extracts sweetness, body, and flavour complexity that shorter standard shots cannot reach.
  • Full flow — The needle valve opens completely. Standard espresso extraction pressure and flow rate. Used to finish the shot or to pull conventional espresso profiles when required.

Temperature stability — independent brew boilers and pre heat tank

Slayer's approach to brewing temperature management is fundamentally different from most commercial espresso machines on the market. Rather than sharing a single boiler between groups or relying on a heat exchanger, the Espresso V3 gives every group head its own independent brew boiler — each digitally controlled to its own temperature independently of the others.

  • Independent brew boiler per group — Each group maintains its own precise brewing temperature regardless of what the adjacent groups are doing. Run three different coffees at three different brew temperatures simultaneously. Temperature stability at each group is unaffected by heavy steam use or adjacent group activity.
  • 3.3L supplemental pre heat tank — A dedicated hydraulic circuit continuously pre heats incoming water before it reaches the brew boilers, ensuring a near-infinite supply of temperature-stable water for both brewing and steam even during the most demanding back-to-back service periods.
  • Dedicated steam tank — 7.4L (2-group) or 12.4L (3-group) steam boiler operates entirely independently from the brew circuit. Unlimited steam capacity — no waiting, no temperature crossover, no compromise on milk texturing during high-volume service.

Handcrafted in Seattle — endlessly customisable

Every Slayer espresso machine is assembled by hand in Seattle, Washington. The machine you receive is not a mass-produced unit pulled from warehouse stock — it is built to order, configured to your specifications, and finished with the materials and colours you choose. Wood type for handles and actuators (standard European Ash, or alternatives), panel colour (standard silver powder-coated X's with black body, or custom RAL colour), metal finish, cup rail style — all configurable. Custom colour orders require a 2–3 week lead time.

Who is a Slayer espresso machine for?

  • Specialty coffee bars — Venues that serve single origins as espresso and want the extraction control to honour each coffee's individual character. The independent brew boilers and needle valve make it possible to dial in fundamentally different profiles for each coffee simultaneously.
  • Coffee roasters with a bar — Showcase what your roasts are capable of. The Slayer's flow rate control extracts sweetness and complexity from well-roasted coffee at a level that standard machines cannot match.
  • High-end restaurants and hospitality — The Slayer's handcrafted aesthetic and custom finish options make it as much a design statement as a piece of equipment. It commands attention on any bar.
  • Serious home installations (Single Group) — The Slayer Single Group in 110V brings the complete Slayer experience to dedicated home espresso setups. The ultimate home commercial espresso machine for the barista who refuses to compromise.
