Description

Di Pacci — 130mm Industrial Roastery Coffee Grinder

Mahlkönig DK15 LS Industrial Coffee Grinder

The Mahlkönig DK15 LS is the production grinder for roasteries that have outgrown shop grinders but don't need a 5 kW monster.

The Mahlkönig DK15 LS is a floor-standing industrial grinder with 130 mm fully hardened special steel burrs and a 2.2 kW three-phase motor. Mahlkönig rates it at about 120 kg/h on a fine grind and 130 kg/h on medium, fed from a 30 kg hopper into a 200 litre movable container.

It shares its frame and footprint with the larger DK27, but with a smaller motor and burr set it suits roasteries grinding for their own cafes, retail bags and smaller wholesale runs. Features are the same industrial kit: hopper magnet, tight low-dust discharge chute, motor ventilation, overload protection and service-free greased bearings.

Key Features of the Mahlkönig DK15 LS

⚙️ 130 mm special steel burrs

Hardened special steel burrs give Mahlkönig's highest output for this size and are rated at around 10 to 15 tonnes.

🏭 Up to 130 kg per hour

Grinds a day's retail bags in well under an hour, so the grinder isn't the bottleneck on packing day.

🔌 2.2 kW three-phase motor

High starting torque lets it start under a full hopper, and overload protection guards the motor.

🧲 Hopper magnet

An integrated magnet catches stray metal in green-to-roasted coffee before it reaches the burrs.

💨 Low-dust discharge

A tight discharge chute feeds the movable 200 litre container and keeps fines out of the room.

🛠️ Low maintenance

Permanently greased, service-free bearings and an air-cooled casing keep downtime low.

Choosing a Burr Set for the DK15

Mahlkönig builds the DK15 with three burr materials. The LS version uses fully hardened special steel, which trades a little burr life for higher output.

  • DK15 L (cast steel): about 105 to 115 kg/h, rated at 15 to 20 tonnes.
  • DK15 LS (special steel): about 120 to 130 kg/h, rated at 10 to 15 tonnes.
  • DK15 LH (tungsten carbide): about 120 to 130 kg/h, rated at 25 to 30 tonnes.

The LS gives the best output per dollar of the three. If you grind more than about 10 tonnes a year, it's worth asking us about the tungsten carbide LH version instead.

Mahlkönig DK15 LS vs DK27 LV

Same Mahlkönig industrial platform and footprint; the DK27 has a much larger burr set and motor.

Feature DK15 LS DK27 LV
Burr diameter 130 mm 180 mm
Burr material Special steel Cast steel
Output (fine / medium) 120 / 130 kg/h 230 / 250 kg/h

Di Pacci recommendation: The DK15 LS is the right size for most Australian roasteries grinding for retail and their own cafes. Step up to the Mahlkönig DK27 LV only if you grind well over 100 kg an hour. Don't bother with an industrial grinder at all if you're grinding a few kilos at a time for a shop; the Mahlkönig EK43 S is the better tool.

✗ Consider alternatives if you:
  • Grind a few kilos at a time in a shop; see the Mahlkönig EK43 S
